Milwaukee Mile, Motorsport racing track in West Allis, United States
The Milwaukee Mile is an oval motorsport track roughly one mile in length located on the grounds of the Wisconsin State Fair Park. Aluminum stands offer seating for tens of thousands of visitors who follow the action from different angles around the circuit.
The site served originally as a horse racing venue starting in 1876 before holding its first automobile race in 1903. Regular motor racing has taken place there ever since, making it the oldest continuously operating motorsport course in the world.
The oval has hosted different forms of open-wheel and stock car series throughout its racing life, drawing teams and drivers who return year after year. The venue remains a key stop for series that value tradition and the challenge of racing on a classic layout.
Access to the grounds takes place through four entry gates, with Gate 1 at the corner of 79th Street and West Greenfield Avenue. Parking spreads across the fairground complex, so visitors should allow a short walk depending on the event.
The central infield area served for decades as a football stadium before being adapted for other events later on. A large rock concert took place there in the summer of 1969, showing the versatility of the space beyond racing.
