Tinley Park, Village in Cook County, Illinois
Located south of Chicago, Tinley Park extends across 16 square miles of residential neighborhoods interspersed with commercial and retail districts.
The settlement, established as Bremen in 1853, changed its name to Tinley Park in 1890 to honor Samuel Tinley Sr, the first railroad station agent.
The Old Zion Landmark Church houses the Historical Society and museum, preserving artifacts and documents from the village's German heritage.
The village offers eleven hotels, numerous restaurants, and retail stores, making it convenient for visitors to find accommodations and services.
Five Indianapolis 500 race car drivers originated from Tinley Park, including the Bettenhausen family members who competed in multiple racing events.
