Bellarmine University

Bellarmine University is a private Catholic institution in the Belknap neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. The campus covers 135 acres (55 ha) with buildings including Pasteur Hall, Owsley B. Frazier Stadium, Our Lady Of The Woods Chapel, and W.L. Lyons Brown Library.

Archbishop John A. Floersh founded Bellarmine College in 1950 to promote Catholic higher education in the region. Fifty years later, the institution gained university status under president Joseph J. McGowan and expanded its academic offerings.
