Crown Fountain, Interactive art and video sculpture in Chicago
Crown Fountain is a major addition to the city's world-renowned public art collection.
The fountain was designed by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa and opened in July 2004.
It represents a use of digital technology in site-specific art and achieves interactivity with public.
The fountain is composed of a black granite reflecting pool placed between a pair of glass brick towers.
The towers are activated with changing video images and water cascades from the top of each.
