Carson Park

Carson Park sits on a peninsula surrounded by Half Moon Lake and offers baseball fields, hiking trails, and various recreation areas. A museum building and railroad station house are also located here for visitors to explore.

The park was established in 1937 and grew into an important recreation and sports location for Eau Claire. The Chippewa Valley Museum inside records the region's past through exhibits about the area's development.

The Wisconsin Logging Museum displays tools and equipment that show how important the lumber industry was to this region. Visitors can see what the difficult forest work looked like in those earlier times.

The park opens at sunrise and closes at sunset daily, with parking available near the stadium and museum buildings. Wear suitable footwear since paths can be slippery when wet.

A miniature Chippewa Valley Railroad train operates through the park around Half Moon Lake during summer months. This small train is especially loved by children and offers a different view of the surroundings.
