Vĩnh Phúc, Province in northern Red River Delta, Vietnam
Vĩnh Phúc is a province in the northern Red River Delta about fifty kilometers northwest of the capital. The terrain combines forested hills with flat plains and several rivers flowing through the region.
The administrative unit emerged in nineteen ninety-seven as an independent province after the dissolution of a larger region. Local settlements have existed for centuries and played a role in different political structures throughout the country's timeline.
The province maintains strong traditions through ethnic communities including Vietnamese, Sán Dìu, Sán Chay, and Tày people who celebrate local festivals throughout the year.
Buses and private transport connect the area with the capital in about one hour of travel. Visitors find accommodation in both urban centers and areas closer to forests and hills.
A protected national park in the region holds tropical forests at elevations that offer cooler air than surrounding lowlands. Rare plants grow beneath the dense canopy that extends across many hillside slopes.
