Bắc Ninh

Bắc Ninh is a provincial city in the Red River Delta covering about 82 square kilometers. The city blends urban neighborhoods with farming areas in the surrounding districts.

The city was captured by French military forces in 1884 during their campaign against the Black Flag resistance movement. This event marked a turning point in regional control during French colonial rule in Vietnam.
