Châu Đốc

Châu Đốc is a provincial city in the Mekong Delta situated along the Hau River, surrounded by waterways and agricultural land. The city sits on flat terrain with numerous channels and rice paddies that define its geography.

The area became part of Vietnam in the 17th century during the country's southward expansion into the Mekong region. The city developed as a trade and agricultural center within this strategic river zone.

The Ba Chua Xu Temple serves as a spiritual center where visitors observe pilgrims paying respects to the goddess during seasonal celebrations. The temple and surrounding areas reflect the religious devotion that shapes daily life and community gatherings in the city.
