Lầu Ông Hoàng is a historical colonial residence standing on Ba Nai Hill at about 150 meters above sea level. The structure originally contained 13 rooms spread across roughly 536 square meters.
The building was constructed in the early 1900s by Duke De Montpensier. It was later destroyed during the French colonial period.
The site connects to poet Han Mac Tu, who visited to write verses inspired by the surrounding landscape. His literary presence has given the place an artistic significance that visitors can still sense today.
The site is located about 7 kilometers from Phan Thiet city center and is accessible daily. Visitors should note that access is available except on weekends between 7:00 and 20:00.
The location served as a gathering point in 1995 when scientists and international observers came together to watch a total solar eclipse. This rare astronomical event made the spot a meeting place for people fascinated by sky phenomena.
