Stjørdal Municipality

Stjørdal Municipality extends across 938 square kilometers, incorporating the town of Stjørdalshalsen and several villages including Hell, Hegra, Lånke, and Skatval.

The municipality established in 1902 underwent major restructuring in 1962 when four separate administrative entities merged to form the current Stjørdal configuration.

The Kimen kulturhus serves as a central cultural institution, providing spaces for performances, literature, and community gatherings through its auditoriums and library facilities.

Transportation infrastructure includes Trondheim Airport Værnes, extensive regional bus networks, and railway connections through the Nordland Line and Meråkerbanen stations.

The municipality contains Hegra Fortress, which maintained Norwegian resistance against Swedish forces and later served as a defensive position during World War II.
