Skomvær Lighthouse, Heritage lighthouse in Røst, Norway
The cylindrical cast iron lighthouse rises 32 meters above its circular stone foundation, featuring a white base and red tower near Røst coast.
Established in 1887 to guide maritime navigation, the Skomvær Lighthouse received automated systems in 1978 to enhance its operational capabilities.
The lighthouse functions from August to May, adapting its schedule to the natural phenomenon of midnight sun during Norwegian summer months.
The lighthouse emits two white flashes every 30 seconds and transmits a Racon signal representing Morse code letter T for maritime navigation.
Located 15 kilometers southwest of Røstlandet, this structure projects light beams visible from 34.6 kilometers with 2,007,300 candela intensity.
