Nobel Prize winner Sigrid Undset purchased the property in 1921 and lived there until 1940 when she fled to the United States during World War II.
The museum preserves the original furnishings and personal items of Sigrid Undset, including her extensive library and writing materials from the 1920s.
Guided tours operate from May through September, with extended hours during summer months and an on-site museum shop selling literature-related items.
The garden contains plants specifically chosen by Sigrid Undset, including medicinal herbs and flowers mentioned in her medieval-themed novels.
