Sagay, Component city in Negros Occidental, Philippines
Sagay is a component city at the northern edge of Negros Occidental that spans across land bordered by Asuncion Pass and the Visayan Sea. The city is divided into 25 barangays including Andres Bonifacio, Bato, and Old Sagay.
The city was originally called Argüelles when founded in 1860 and took its present name from sigay shells found locally in the area. The official name change to Sagay occurred in 1906.
