Bicol International Airport, International airport in Daraga, Philippines
Bicol International Airport is a commercial hub serving the Bicol Region with a modern passenger terminal. The facility includes check-in counters, self-service kiosks, and jet bridges to handle incoming and outgoing flights.
Planning for the airport began in 1996 but faced multiple delays before the facility opened in 2021. The new terminal replaced the previous airport and significantly expanded flight connections for the region.
The terminal structure connects travelers to the Bicol Region, an area containing natural parks, historical landmarks, and regional festivities throughout the year.
The airport sits about 15 kilometers from Mayon Volcano and is easily accessible by car from the city. Travelers should arrive early, especially during peak times, to allow enough time for check-in and boarding.
The facility replaced Legazpi Airport and increased its handling capacity to two million passengers annually, marking a substantial upgrade for regional air transportation.
