Mount Malindang

Mount Malindang spreads across different forest zones with grasslands, lowland dipterocarp forests, montane forests, and moss-covered forests at higher elevations. The vegetation changes noticeably as elevation increases, from dense canopy in lower areas to more open plant growth at the summit.

The area received protection status in 1971 as a National Park and Watershed Reserve to safeguard its water sources and forest resources. This designation marked an early effort to protect mountain regions in the country.
