Piddig Church

Piddig Church is a Catholic parish church situated on a hilltop and accessed by a grand central stairway, enclosed by a stone and brick perimeter fence. The building houses spaces for religious services and community gatherings within the Diocese of Laoag.

The building underwent major changes when it was closed in 2014 due to safety concerns and reopened in 2019 following extensive renovations. This restoration brought the site back to life as an active center for community worship and gatherings.

The interior keeps its original wooden craftsmanship and displays a central retable depicting Saint Anne holding Mary in her lap. This sacred image holds deep meaning for local worshippers and shapes the community's spiritual practice.

Visitors can reach the hilltop by climbing the broad central stairway, though taking time to ascend at a comfortable pace is advisable. The church holds scheduled religious services and community events throughout the week.

The facade takes design cues from Rome's Il Gesu church, showing how European religious architecture influenced the building's appearance. This architectural choice links the building quietly to the broader story of Catholic architecture worldwide.
