King Kazimierz Wielki granted Magdeburg rights to Skawina in 1364, establishing the town with defensive walls, a castle, and the Holy Spirit parish church.
The central market square, dating from the 14th century, maintains its historical function as a weekly marketplace, continuing traditions from the Jagiellonian period.
The town connects to Krakow through regular bus services and railway lines, with the main station located 400 meters from the central square.
The Renaissance palace, constructed in the mid-16th century by Paweł Korytko, stands as a testament to the architectural heritage of the region.
