Church of the Monastery of Jesus of Setúbal

The rectangular nave of the church leads to a polygonal apse, supported by buttresses and decorated with gargoyles and pinnacles throughout its structure.

Construction began in 1490 under Justa Rodrigues Pereira's initiative, with King John II commissioning architect Diogo de Boitaca to design this religious building.

The church interior contains a collection of 17th-century ceramic tiles depicting scenes from Mary's life along its side walls with colored frames.

The monastery museum displays Flemish and Portuguese paintings from the 15th and 16th centuries, including works attributed to the School of Jorge Afonso.

The church features twisted subcolumns crafted from pink Arrabida stone, supporting pointed arches that line the narrow central nave.
