Located on Rua Sá da Bandeira, this coffeehouse features marble surfaces, engraved leather furniture, and crystal decorations behind its iron and glass facade.

Founded by Adriano Soares Teles do Vale in 1903, this establishment introduced Porto to the custom of drinking coffee in public places through a marketing strategy.

The venue evolved into a gathering place where writers, artists, politicians, and journalists engaged in discussions about contemporary matters during the 1920s.

The establishment combines a traditional coffeehouse with a five-star hotel containing 90 rooms spread across six floors themed after Portuguese maritime spices.

During its first thirteen years, customers received a free cup of coffee with every purchase of coffee beans, establishing a new coffee culture in Porto.
