The 250-meter granite avenue extends from Liberty Square to City Hall, featuring neoclassical buildings with decorated facades and bronze statues.
Construction began in 1916 after demolishing the old laundry district, transforming the area into a grand boulevard lined with financial institutions.
The avenue serves as Porto's central gathering point for celebrations, including New Year's Eve, Saint John festivities, and FC Porto victory parades.
Two metro stations, Aliados and Trindade, provide direct access to the avenue, while São Bento railway station sits 300 meters away.
The bronze statue of King Pedro IV stands 4.5 meters tall at Liberty Square, weighing over 10 tons and marking the avenue's southern entrance.
