Convent of Jesus, Manueline monastery in Setúbal, Portugal.

The Monastery of Jesus features twisted columns carved from pink Arrabida stone and contains a rectangular nave leading to a polygonal apse.

Founded around 1490 by noblewoman Justa Rodrigues Pereira, the monastery received sponsorship from King John II and was built by architect Diogo de Boitaca.

The museum displays fourteen paintings depicting scenes from Christ's life and holds an extensive collection of Flemish and Portuguese primitive art.

The monastery reopened in 2020 after an eight-year renovation project that cost nine million euros and included structural improvements to multiple sections.

The building represents one of the earliest examples of Manueline architecture, featuring distinctive late Gothic elements in its stone vaulting and decorative patterns.
