Patriarchate of Peja, Orthodox monastery in Peja, Serbia
This religious complex includes four connected churches with central domes, surrounded by stone walls at the entrance of Rugova gorge.
The monastery originated in 1201 and served as the residence for Serbian Orthodox patriarchs and archbishops through the medieval period.
The walls and ceilings display medieval frescoes depicting biblical narratives and saints according to Eastern Orthodox religious traditions.
