Shebekino, Industrial town in Belgorod Oblast, Russia
Shebekino spans across the banks of the Nezhegol River, positioned 32 kilometers southeast from Belgorod and near the Ukrainian border at 110 meters elevation.
The settlement emerged in 1713 when soldier Ivan Dmitrievich Shibeko purchased the land, leading to its initial development and subsequent industrial growth through the 19th century.
The Belgorod Drama Theater remains an active cultural institution in Shebekino, maintaining artistic performances despite regional challenges in recent years.
Regular bus services connect Shebekino to Belgorod every 20 minutes, while the town maintains essential services for its population of approximately 39,680 residents.
Officer Alexei Rehbinder transformed the settlement in 1836 by establishing industrial facilities, including a sugar factory along the Nezhegol River.
