The Muscovite Hall was the largest reception space in Königsberg Castle, featuring a vaulted ceiling and segmental arch windows that flooded the interior with light. This expansive room sat directly above the castle chapel and could accommodate hundreds of guests at a time.
Construction of this hall took place from 1584 to 1593 as part of the castle's major expansion during the Renaissance period. The completion represented a significant architectural achievement for the region at that time.
The hall hosted royal ceremonies, including the wedding of Brandenburg Crown Prince John Sigismund and Anna of Prussia in 1594.
The original castle structure no longer stands, so visitors see only the remains and foundations visible within the modern city layout. A visit requires exploring the archaeological site on foot to understand the space where the hall once occupied.
In 1798, the hall accommodated a royal ball for 3000 guests served by women from Masuria, receiving praise from Queen Louise.
