City of Military Glory, Memorial column in Tver, Russia
The granite and bronze column rises 6.5 meters high in front of the Municipal Cultural Center, featuring the Russian national emblem at its peak.
The monument commemorates Tver receiving its City of Military Glory status in 2011, recognizing the city's defense against German forces during World War II.
The four pillars surrounding the central column display bronze relief panels depicting military achievements and historical events from the city's wartime experience.
The monument serves as a central gathering point for Victory Day celebrations and military ceremonies held annually on May 9th.
Each side of the memorial contains inscriptions of the presidential decree and military orders that formally granted Tver its distinguished status.
