The estate originated as the seat of the Griboyedov noble family and remained in their hands for several generations. During the 1800s, Count Geyden acquired the property and brought a significant art collection there, expanding its importance.

The estate serves as a memorial space dedicated to writer Alexander Griboyedov, where visitors can see period furnishings, decorative objects, and items from his personal collection. The rooms show how the family lived and worked during the 18th and 19th centuries.

The site is open to visitors several days per week and offers both self-guided and guided tour options to explore the rooms and grounds. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended since the property is quite large and includes outdoor paths and gardens to discover.

The property contains a church built in the 18th century using traditional construction methods, positioned among centuries-old linden trees. This combination of religious architecture and mature natural surroundings offers visitors a quiet spot away from the main house.
