Jeddah Super Dome, Entertainment venue in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
Jeddah Super Dome is a large covered venue in the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah, whose geodesic structure consists of interconnected steel elements. The freestanding dome spans a wide area without internal supports, creating an open space for changing uses.
Construction was completed during the global pandemic between 2019 and June 2021, with over 200 professionals involved in the project. Completion took place despite worldwide travel restrictions and logistical challenges in sourcing materials.
The venue hosts concerts, sporting events and large trade shows that regularly draw several thousand spectators from the region and beyond. During international tournaments and performances, the interior transforms into different configurations depending on the occasion, offering space for changing stage setups.
The site sits close to King Abdulaziz Airport and the sports facilities in the northern part of the city, making the area easy to reach for visitors. The interior offers multiple levels and can be configured with different seating arrangements depending on the event.
The construction holds two records as the largest continuous dome and largest geodesic dome structure worldwide. This recognition is based on the continuous construction method without internal load-bearing elements and the overall span of the steel framework.
