Sager House, Prime Minister's residence in central Stockholm, Sweden.
Sager House is the official residence of Sweden's Prime Minister in central Stockholm. The three-story building with mansard roof displays French Baroque Revival architecture with Rococo details and stands at Strömgatan 18.
The site was first documented in the 17th century, but the present building took shape in 1893 when Robert Sager commissioned substantial renovations. It became the official Prime Minister's residence in 1995.
The building takes its name from Robert Sager, its original owner, and is recognized by the public as the seat of Sweden's political leadership. The understated yet refined design reflects Swedish tradition of combining practicality with grace.
The building stands near Parliament House, the Royal Palace, and the Government Chancellery, forming a central hub of political Stockholm. The location is easy to reach and offers views of the city's main governmental institutions.
In 2011, the house underwent careful restoration when the lime paint was replaced with linseed oil paint to recover its original 19th-century finish. This work returned the facade to its historical state.
