Ralph Erskine designed and constructed this combined residence and studio between 1956 and 1963, incorporating solutions for the challenges of subarctic climate conditions.
The building reflects Swedish architectural traditions through its layout, which balances communal spaces with private areas across multiple floors for various family activities.
The upper level contains dedicated children spaces with separate access, while a detached structure houses the studio and office space for professional activities.
Natural rock formations and rounded grass areas surround the villa, creating different visual experiences throughout seasonal changes from snowy winters to green summers.
