The synagogue features a red brick western facade with white moldings and twin tablets representing the Ten Commandments atop the structure.
Established in 1927, the synagogue served a Jewish population of over 11,500 people, which represented 16.4 percent of Košice's total population.
The interior prayer room contains geometric patterns on walls, a royal blue cupola with gold sunburst, stained glass windows, and a marble Torah ark.
The synagogue maintains an 800-person capacity and currently functions as both a religious center and educational venue for visitors.
A bronze memorial plate installed in 1992 commemorates more than 12,000 Jewish residents who were transported to concentration camps in 1944.
