Cha-uat, Administrative district in Nakhon Si Thammarat, Thailand.
Cha-uat is an administrative district in Nakhon Si Thammarat province in southern Thailand. The area contains eleven sub-districts with a total of eighty-eight villages spread across varied terrain including hills and river valleys.
The district formed in 1923 as an administrative division separated from Ron Phibun. It gained full district status on January 1, 1953.
Each of the eleven tambons within Cha-uat maintains its own local governance structure through Tambon Administrative Organizations, preserving traditional management methods.
The southern railway line connects the district to larger cities, while multiple roads facilitate movement through the region. Villages are accessible via a network of local roads that wind through the varying terrain.
The district borders Khao Pu-Khao Ya National Park within the Nakhon Si Thammarat mountain range. This natural boundary position connects it with Phatthalung and Trang provinces.
