Jingashi Crown Prince Chalet, Historic site in Shenkeng District, Taiwan.

Jingashi Crown Prince Chalet is a wooden mansion that combines features of Japanese and Western design, built in the 1920s. The structure includes residential areas, formal spaces, and a landscaped garden designed according to traditional Japanese guidelines.

The Takana Mining Company built the property in 1922 as a reception site for the planned visit of Crown Prince Hirohito. The project emerged from the economic importance of local mining operations during that period.

The building shows how architecture developed during the Japanese occupation period, with spaces designed for both everyday use and formal occasions. The garden follows Japanese design principles and reflects the aesthetics that visitors of that era would have expected.

The property is located at 8 Jinguang Road in New Taipei City and allows visitors to explore both interior spaces and outdoor areas. The grounds are relatively easy to navigate, allowing visitors to view the architecture and garden at their own pace.

The southern grounds once contained recreational facilities from the 1920s, including a miniature golf course and an archery area. These leisure spaces show how the elite of that era imagined their recreation.
