Spartak Stadium, Sports stadium in Odesa, Ukraine
Spartak Stadium is a sports ground in Odesa with a natural grass pitch and covered seating on the main stand side. The facility has changing rooms, referee quarters, and a doping control room for athletes and officials.
The stadium was founded in 1928, making it one of the oldest sports venues in Odesa. A major renovation in 2009 replaced the outdated structures with new facilities.
The Spartak Stadium is one of the few venues in Odesa that regularly hosts both football and rugby, drawing two very different crowds to the same ground. This mix gives the place a practical, no-frills character that feels more like a neighborhood sports ground than a large arena.
The ground is compact and easy to navigate, with the covered stand giving a clear view of the pitch from most seats. On rainy days, the natural grass can make conditions around the touchlines muddy, so sturdy footwear is a good idea.
Between 2009 and 2011, FC Chornomorets used this ground as their temporary home while their main stadium was being rebuilt for Euro 2012. For those two seasons, a modest neighborhood ground hosted top-flight Ukrainian football.
