Al-Salam Mosque

Al-Salam Mosque stands on Rishelievska Street with traditional Islamic architecture adorned with detailed decorations and Arabic script across its surfaces. The building combines prayer spaces with separate areas for men and women alongside classrooms and a library focused on Arab culture.

The building was constructed in 1998, replacing an older Tatar mosque destroyed during the Soviet era. Its opening marked the return of a place of worship to the city after decades of absence.

The community uses this space to share Arabic language and Islamic traditions with people of all backgrounds through an open school and library. It serves as a gathering place for those exploring or deepening their understanding of these traditions.

A Syrian businessman funded the construction of this religious complex, connecting his homeland to this Black Sea city. The project demonstrates how international support created a place of worship and culture for an entire community.
