Kulikove Pole

Kulikove Pole is a roughly 10-hectare park in central Odesa featuring wide pathways, open green areas, and the Trade Unions Building constructed in 1958. The space is bordered by Italian Boulevard, Kanatna Street, Pyrohivska Street, and Serednofontanska Street within the Prymorskyi district.

In the early 1800s, the land belonged to the Kulikovsky family estate before gradually transforming into a public square as the city expanded. This conversion from private grounds to civic space reflects Odesa's growth during that period.

The park serves as a gathering place for major city celebrations, particularly the annual Humorina comedy festival in spring and Odesa City Day festivities. Locals and visitors come here to experience traditions that define the city's character and bring communities together.

The park offers multiple seating areas and shaded spots beneath mature trees for resting or lingering. Keep in mind that its proximity to the railway station means train sounds may be noticeable during certain hours of the day.

During the 1800s, the ground functioned as a hidden burial site for jail prisoners and political activists before becoming a public recreation area. This concealed chapter of its past remains largely unknown to those walking through today.
