Catherine's Church

Catherine's Church is an Orthodox cathedral in Chernihiv featuring five golden domes and white brick walls built in Ukrainian Baroque style. The structure displays ornate window trimmings and decorative pilasters that define its architectural character.

The cathedral was built in 1715 and commemorates the Chernihiv Cossack regiment for their valor at the siege of the Turkish fortress Azov in 1696. The structure suffered damage during World War II but underwent extensive restoration between 1947 and 1955.

The cathedral serves as a spiritual center where the local Orthodox community gathers for regular worship and celebrations. Visitors can observe how this place remains central to the faith and daily life of the people here.
