Chernihiv Regional Art Museum, Art museum in Chernihiv, Ukraine
The Chernihiv Regional Art Museum displays over 16,000 artworks in a 19th-century building located within the ancient princely city at Muzeyna Street.
Established in 1983, the museum houses collections from the Galagan Cossack family, featuring Western European and Ukrainian art dating from the 16th century onwards.
The museum exhibits religious artworks from the Ukrainian Baroque period, including canonical representations of Archangel Michael and Virgin Mary icons.
The museum maintains regular operations throughout the week, providing access to its extensive collection of paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts from various periods.
Among its notable possessions is the 1626 painting 'Concert' by Dutch artist Hendrick Terbruggen, representing a significant piece of Dutch Golden Age art.
