Opishnia

Opishnia is an urban-type settlement in Poltava Oblast situated along the right bank of the Vorskla River. The community spreads across residential neighborhoods and administrative buildings, forming a modest settlement in eastern Ukraine's landscape.

The settlement began as a traditional community and underwent an important status change in 2024. It was reclassified from an urban-type settlement to a rural village in Ukraine's administrative restructuring.

The settlement functions as an administrative center within the Opishnia settlement hromada, representing a fundamental unit in Ukraine's local governance structure.

Highway H12 directly connects the settlement to Poltava and Sumy, making travel by car straightforward for visitors. The nearest railway station is located some distance to the south, so having your own transport is helpful for exploring the area.
