Lenina is a small urban settlement located in Luhansk Oblast in eastern Ukraine. It sits at an elevation of around 184 meters (600 feet) and functions as part of the Lutuhyne administrative area.
The settlement was founded in 1896 under its original name. In 2016, it was renamed to Mariia as part of Ukraine's decommunization efforts.
The population demographics from 2001 showed a language distribution of 30.83% Ukrainian speakers and 68.72% Russian speakers in the community.
