Cerkiew św. Michała Archanioła we Lwowie

The church features baroque architecture with tall towers, marble altars, and extensive frescoes painted by Italian artists Giuseppe Pedretti and B. Mazurkevich.

Construction began on October 7, 1634, initially as a Discalced Carmelite monastery, and underwent restoration works until 1656 following multiple wars and sieges.

The temple held a miraculous icon of the Holy Virgin, a copy of the Black Madonna of Częstochowa, from 1786 to 1946.

Located at 22 Vynnychenko Street in Lviv, the church returned to religious service in 1991 after being used as a warehouse during the Soviet period.

The marble altar from the 17th century takes the form of a small shrine called tempietto, demonstrating exceptional architectural craftsmanship.
