Vchelka Waterfall

Vchelka Waterfall is a natural feature in Zhytomyr Raion where water drops across three separate levels and spreads across multiple meters in width. The Hnylopiat River flows over different rock formations, creating varied water patterns as it descends.

The waterfall takes its name from the Vchelka farm that existed in the early 1900s in the area. This settlement demonstrates that people lived and worked in this region, establishing local communities around the farmland.

The waterfall serves as a natural landmark that locals have long recognized in their daily connection to the land. People from nearby villages have passed through this area across generations, making it a familiar point in their local geography.

The best way to reach the waterfall is on foot following marked paths through the Zhytomyr Oblast landscape. Spring is the ideal season for visiting, when snowmelt increases the water flow and makes the cascade more dramatic.
