Church of St. Nicholas, Berdychiv

The Church of St. Nicholas stands near the Hnylopiat River with its traditional Eastern European architectural features and multiple domed structures.

The temple complex began as a fortified monastery in 1630 under Polish Carmelite monks, who maintained religious activities until Soviet authorities seized it in 1924.

The church became a national sanctuary in 2001, hosting religious ceremonies, regular services, and displaying a replica of Our Lady of Berdyczow icon.

The temple accepts visitors at coordinates 49.891944, 28.6, with regular religious services and guided tours explaining the history of the complex.

The temple survived a significant fire in 1941 that destroyed the original icon of the Virgin Mary, leading to the creation of a new copy in 1997.
