Cincinnati Gardens, Indoor arena in Cincinnati, United States.
Cincinnati Gardens was a multi-purpose hall in Cincinnati, Ohio, built with red brick and limestone and decorated at its main entrance with six athletic figures. The facility covered about 2,300 square meters and offered space for ice hockey, basketball, and other events.
The hall opened on February 22, 1949, and was at that time one of the largest indoor sports facilities in the United States with initially more than 11,000 seats. It served for decades as home to different ice hockey teams and was demolished in 2018.
The venue hosted numerous performances by major artists including The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Madonna, and served as a location for professional wrestling events.
The facility normally accommodated just over 10,000 spectators and was primarily designed for ice hockey games and basketball matches. Concerts, circus performances, and wrestling events also took place there regularly.
The Mohawks, who played their home games here, won five consecutive championships in the ice hockey league between 1949 and 1958. Major artists such as The Beatles, Elvis Presley, and Madonna performed here before the hall finally closed its doors.
