Eastwood Historic District

The Eastwood Historic District is a residential neighborhood in Cincinnati containing buildings from the late 1800s and 1900s with different architectural styles. The houses are spread across several streets and mix residential structures with some modern uses like medical offices.

The neighborhood developed in the early to middle 1900s as a suburban residential area. It was officially recognized and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005 to preserve its importance to the area's growth patterns.

The district reflects how people built and shaped their suburban homes across different decades and design trends. The variety of buildings shows the choices residents made about their living spaces and the architectural styles they preferred.

You can walk through the neighborhood at your own pace to view the different houses and street layouts. It is easy to take your time observing the buildings from the outside since there are no special access restrictions.

The neighborhood contains ten houses that were ordered directly from a Sears catalog, an unusual feature of early American home building. These prefabricated houses show an interesting chapter in the history of American residential construction.
