Among the district's buildings are ten original kit houses from the Sears Modern Homes catalog, representing an important phase in American residential construction methods.
Visitors can explore the district's architecture through self-guided walks along Madison and Duck Creek Roads, with medical offices integrated among residential structures.
Architects Wilbur M. Firth and Lee P. contributed to the district's architectural character through designs that combine Bungalow and Craftsman elements with Revival styles.
