Buxton

Buxton is a New England town in York County, Maine, comprising several distinct villages including Salmon Falls, Chicopee, Groveville, and Bar Mills. These settlements are connected by rural roads and local routes that link the different areas together.

The Massachusetts General Court granted the township as Narragansett Number 1 in 1728, and it was incorporated with its current name in 1772. This founding period marked the beginning of lasting European settlement in the area.
