Letchworth State Park, State park and natural reserve in western New York, United States
The Genesee River flows through a deep gorge with three major waterfalls, surrounded by cliffs reaching heights of 550 feet across 14,500 acres.
The land became a public park in 1906 when industrialist William Pryor Letchworth donated his 1,000-acre estate to New York State for preservation.
The park preserves important Native American archaeological sites, including ancient burial grounds and settlements of the Seneca Nation dating back centuries.
Visitors can access 66 miles of hiking trails, camping facilities, and winter sports activities, with entrance points from both Livingston and Wyoming counties.
A railroad bridge spanning 235 feet above the Upper Falls creates an architectural contrast against the natural canyon landscape.
