National Museum of Mexican Art, Mexican art museum in Pilsen, Chicago, United States.

The National Museum of Mexican Art spans 48,000 square feet and contains over 7,000 artworks ranging from ancient artifacts to contemporary pieces.

Founded in 1982 by Carlos Tortolero and educators, the institution opened in 1987 as the Mexican Fine Arts Center Museum and received its current name in 2006.

The museum displays permanent exhibits examining Mexican identity through five historical periods, from Pre-Cuauhtémoc Mexico to contemporary times.

Located at 1852 West 19th Street, the museum welcomes visitors Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM without charging admission fees.

Each October, the museum presents the largest Day of the Dead exhibition in the United States, featuring traditional altars and related artistic creations.
