Frist Campus Center, Collegiate Gothic center at Princeton University, United States
Frist Campus Center combines the original Palmer Physics Laboratory with modern additions, housing a large multipurpose space at Princeton University. The building contains dining halls, cafes, retail shops, study areas, classrooms, meeting rooms, and performance venues equipped with contemporary projection technology.
The building began as Palmer Physics Laboratory in 1909, designed by architect Henry Janeway Hardenbergh for scientific research and teaching. Robert Venturi transformed it into a modern campus center in 2000, integrating the historic structure with contemporary functions.
Room 302 keeps its original layout from when Albert Einstein taught physics lectures there, connecting the building to important scientific history. Visitors can enter this space and picture how influential thinkers once worked within these walls.
The building is accessible from multiple campus entrances with clear wayfinding signs throughout the complex. Wide corridors and elevators make it easy to navigate between the different levels and functional areas.
The building served as a filming location for the fictional hospital in the television series House, making it recognizable to fans beyond the academic community. The corridors and rooms appeared in multiple episodes of the show.
