Albert Pike Residence Hotel
Albert Pike Residence Hotel, Historic hotel building in Little Rock, United States.
The Albert Pike Residence Hotel consists of two eight-story wings connected by a taller ten-story central section, with decorated stone detailing and triple arched windows throughout. The brick structure showcases Spanish Colonial Revival features that define its exterior appearance.
The building was constructed in 1929 by the Farrell Hotel Company and designed by architect Eugene John Stern. This timing placed it just before major economic changes that would reshape the hospitality industry in America.
The main lobby contains original decorative elements including stenciled walls, stained glass, ornamental tiles, and ironwork from the building's opening era. These features reflect the craftsmanship and attention to detail that defined the space when it first welcomed guests.
The building is located at 701 South Scott Street in downtown Little Rock and now operates as efficiency apartments following major renovations. Its prominent position in the city center makes it easy to find and access.
Terra cotta medallions positioned above the main entrances display heraldic shields bearing the initials AP as a tribute to Albert Pike. These distinctive markers create a direct connection between the building's identity and its namesake.
