Bath Township, Township in Summit County, United States.
Bath Township is an administrative township in the western portion of Summit County that combines residential neighborhoods with open green areas. It shares borders with eight different administrative regions and features access points to Interstate 77, including a cloverleaf intersection with Copley Township at State Route 18.
The territory was renamed from Wheatfield to Hammondsburgh in 1810, then became Bath Township following its separation from Richfield Township in 1818. These shifts established it as an independent administrative area.
The township is home to several schools that shape community life and bring residents together. Local parks and public spaces serve as gathering points for everyday recreation and social interaction.
The area is easily accessible via Interstate 77, which provides multiple entry points throughout the township. Main roads offer good connections to surrounding communities, making navigation straightforward.
In 1997 the township acquired a former 404-acre Firestone manufacturing site and converted it into Bath Nature Preserve. The preserve now serves the University of Akron for ongoing research activities.
